How I use the Pen Tool tutorial by CrystallizedTwilight How I use the Pen Tool tutorial by CrystallizedTwilight
I got a few requests asking how I do my "Lineless" Pen Tool drawings, so here you go!

HUGE FILE, you'll have to download.

Also, I apologize in advance for any spelling errors. It's very late and the file is huge and I probably won't change them ugh

enjoy!

*edit: for step 19, I forgot to say what I filled my "overlay" and "color" layers with woops. It was a nice red-brown.

this is definitely helpful! I've been absolutely in love with the look of your lineless work, if you don't mind me saying -
Thanks so much for sharing! c:

Just wondering, but why don't you use illustrator for the lines portion--from what I've heard and know it tends to be a little easier to edit and such.

At any rate lovely job. :)

I've used illustrator, and continue to do so almost daily in school, but the use of the pen tool is very different in that program. In illustrator, if you want to draw a curve, you must click, pick up your pen, click a good distance away from the first point, then hold your mouse down and drag the bezier curve outward (whereas in photoshop, you draw it as if you were drawing with a pencil) Both programs are good, but it depends on the result you want and how important it is that the image be raster or vector in the end. Thanks!

Interesting, I wasn't aware that you could draw as normal in Photoshop with the pen tool. That sounds nice, I'll have to try it sometime.
